Extra Credit #3

When reading the article, "Racist Hunger Games Fans Are Very Disappointed" by Dodai Stewart, it shows how racist people all over the world still are living in the 21st century. Just like Stewart points out that in the book, it clearly stated that Rue and Thresh both had dark skin but when reading the book people most likely ignored that fact and created their own image of the two. The tweets young kids posted about the expectations of the movie were shocking, they shouldn't be judging anyone by their race. All the characters that were chosen, fit the roles perfectly and made the movie even better than expected! One point that i found interesting was how Joey Longely said "Eww rue is black?? I'm not watching." Don't people think before they post something that will be read all over the world? Just like the girl from Greece who ruined her career in the Olympics by posted a racist comment like this one. People should go to school and learn how to read specific details and then judge others by where they come from and the color they are.

Blog #4: The Hunger Games

For this blog, I was assigned to discuss what character I would choose from the Hunger Games and why?  I have to reenact a scene of my choosing or create one of my own in the perspective of the character I decide to choose.  The character that I choose would have to be Peeta Mellark.  I chose Peeta because he is one of the main characters and while reading the book I always wondered what he was thinking during the Hunger Games and other scenes through out the book.  There are several different scenes in which I would like to reenact.  For example, the scene where Katniss tries to save Peeta and kisses him while they are in the cave.  Another scene would have to be when they are on the show and Peeta confesses his love for Katniss.  The last scene that I would have to choose would be the scene in the woods where Peeta is against Katniss and sides with the other Districts.
